Defenders of Freedom or Perpetrators and Facilitators of Crimes? Beyond Progressive Retreatism in the Trump Era

ABSTRACT

Heavily influenced by broad definitions of crime developed by a few pioneering critical criminologists, the main objective of this article is to provide evidence showing that the current Trump administration is a regime that commits crimes of the powerful and facilitates some types of interpersonal violence in private places. Special attention is devoted to direct and in-direct state-perpetrated violent crimes against women.     

新中国70年国家安全观的演变:认知、内涵与应对

新中国成立以来，面对国内外安全环境的变化，中国实现了由传统安全观向总体国家安全观的演变，显著体现在安全环境研判、安全内容认知和安全维护手段三个方面。中共十八大以来，中国在安全方面频繁推出新理念、新方案和新举措，中国的安全能力不断增强，国际安全影响日益增加。在安全观方面，中国先后提出了总体国家安全观、亚洲新安全观、亚太安全观等理念，实现了安全观的变革与创新。安全环境研判方面，对国内安全的认知更加全面系统、对周边安全的认知更加统筹协调、对国际安全认知更加注重“中国作为”；安全内容认知方面，认知内容日益丰富，兼顾传统安全与非传统安全，统筹国家安全与人民安全；安全维护手段方面，不断完善国家安全体系、加强国家安全能力建设和推进国际安全合作。回顾新中国七十年国家安全观的演变，历经安全实践的锤炼，已经形成了一些基本经验，主要体现在安全环境研判需考虑内外因素并注重其联动性、坚持核心安全需求的底线和安全维护手段要以和为贵、文攻武备。展望未来，其重要启示在于中国的国家安全观要注重安全需求与安全能力之间的平衡，将安全能力建设视为至关重要的任务，不断促进安全维护手段的多样性和灵活性。     

An Honourable Profession: Public Employees and Identity Construction in Chile, 1880–1920

This paper analyses how public employees at two Chilean government offices constructed their occupational identities. In contrast to the vast majority of previous work, which took the 1920s as its starting point, this study focuses on the period between 1880 and 1920. Additionally, the construction of identity is analysed in direct relation to performance in the workplace. The paper asserts that public criticism of their performance prompted public employees to develop an image of themselves based on the concept of their honourability as competent and honest workers.     

A Model for Female-Perpetrated Domestic Violence

Child abuse often coexists with intimate partner violence. However, limited studies incorporate both phenomena in a single study. Moreover, the examination of female-on-male violence is an important development. Hence, an intrinsic case study of domestic violence is presented to provide insights regarding the nature and impact of female-perpetrated violence. The research approach was qualitative and demonstrated that a model for abusive behavior seems to be similar for both sexes. The data revealed theoretical trends such as the reality of an intergenerational transmission of violence into adulthood, as well as abusive partners presenting with borderline traits.     

‘No toques mi pelo’ (don’t touch my hair): decoding Afro-Cuban identity politics through hair

ABSTRACT

People across the African Diaspora have developed a complex socio-visual-language system of hair as a means of self-expression; however, the decades of economic sanctions in Cuba generated a unique political dynamic that has shaped concepts of self-image and cultural expressions. Sixteen Afro-Cuban women were interviewed about the cultural significance of their hair using The Guided Hair Autobiography methodology. Participant themes included aesthetic pride and confidence, hair bullying and embarrassment, and hair damage and distress. A Cuban cultural critique underlines how Afro-Cuban women have been socialized to have a bias towards straightened long hair over tightly coiled hair textures. These findings suggest that despite the ‘raceless’ political revolutionary spirit infused into Cuban cultural ideology, people of African descent process racial politics and identity through hair.     

比利时养老模式对我国养老体系建设的启示

比利时作为典型的欧洲发达国家,在养老体系和长期照护制度建设上积累了较为成功的经验。本研究归纳和分析比利时养老模式、相关养老法规政策、养老经费筹集以及服务提供方的资质等,意在为进一步完善我国的养老体系提供参考。当前,比利时形成了居家养老、短期照护、老年公寓、养老院、老年护理院和老年病房等6种养老模式,并具有完善的法规和政策来指导照护床位数设置、养老经费使用、社会保险缴纳以及服务提供者的资质确定。借鉴比利时经验,研究认为,我国可以加强养老保障制度顶层设计,促进多元养老模式和谐发展,并发挥社会组织力量,培养老年健康专业人才,以不断完善我国的养老体系。     

公安院校开展生命教育初探--意义构建与核心价值分析

谫论无人机在公安边防部队反恐行动中的应用

无人机由于其目标小、伤亡小越来越多的被运用在战场上,尤其是在反恐行动中无人机也发挥着重要的作用。通过对无人机应用的现状、特点的分析可以得出无人机在公安边防部队中应用的可行性,提出应用中侦察情况、获取情报,参与进攻、掩护队员,火力攻击、心理袭扰的功能作用,并对其在反恐行动中应用所面临的问题进行探索。     

On The Trial-centered New Relationship between Prosecutors and Lawyers

The relationship between prosecutors and lawyers is not only an important part of the center of the judicial system, but also the visual expression of modern criminal structures. The Eighth Session of the Fourth Plenary proposed reform to the trial as the center of litigation system, to provide a policy basis on which to build a new relationship between prosecutors and lawyers. In prosecution of criminal proceedings the body performs an important function in the “trial centered” litigation model, how to build the suitable relationships between the prosecutors and lawyers is of great significance for the target to be completed in Litigation Reform.
